Authors Comments:
The reason I am involved with this
important effort of saving and investment education is because I want to assist African
Americans and all Americans who are underinvested to seek the American Dream of Prosperity
and a high standard of living through the use of high quality investment vehicles. My
vision is to bring the underinvested into the mainstream of American economic life. The
ultimate satisfaction is a worry free retirement. This may be the greatest
"myth" of all.
When polled about their greatest
retirement concerns, a full 80% of respondents cited, "running out of money."
I have set up a foundation and
philanthropic effort to discuss the plight of the under invested (including and focus on
minorities) Americans.
I want to share with you this book
because I feel you will agree with me the idea and dream of economic freedom. That dream
is to begin an effort to focus our people on saving and investing in the stock market.
Now, I believe that we can deliver that message to everyone. This is the principle that I
use each and everyday. I feel too many people do not have enough information to prepare
for their future given the current economic realities of social security and other
government entitlement programs. My next effort is to carry this idea even further. I feel
that through a curriculum based educational effort we can raise the level of economic
understanding in this country.
The Stock Market is doing well. I like to
think it is because of the general state of the American economy. Now, I want to give you
some investment advice.
Investing in Common Stock involves risk.
Your money is safer in CDs and money market accounts.
I have just given you two reasons not
to invest in the stock market. But as a responsible financial advisor, I am required to
give you a balanced presentation of investment ideas by including both the risks mentioned
above, and rewards such as these:
Over the long-term, most investors have been rewarded by selected stocks. In 10 years,
ending 3/31/98, $10,000 investment in the Dow Jones Industrial Average would have grown
28.42 % to $41,961.
While every portfolio should contain such guaranteed or insured investments as CDs or
money market accounts, such safety also has its costs. Over the past 10 years, investors
have been "CD-shocked" as they watched 6-month rates drop from 16.20% to 2.79 %,
ending 4/1/98.
With interest rates apparently heading lower,
where can investors like you go to make up forlost dollars? The Stock Market. These are
some of the things I discuss in my book not to mention the impact of the NEW IRA's (Roth,
Education) and other items of interest.

Fee Based Services:
Krystal Investment Management is an investment consulting
firm/managed money service that uses a fee-based approach to provide the benefits of
institutional asset management to retail clients . We are financial advisors and since
1989, are SEC registered investment advisors.
Why use a fee-based program:
As an independent third party investment advisor we
provide the "peace of mind" to provide a game plan, including an investment and
asset-allocation strategy, performance-measurement that every client needs. In a client
relationship there is the setting of investment objectives, investment manager selection,
confirmation of transactions, monthly transactions statements, asset custody,
quarterly-monitoring, and performance-reports. Often these items have variable costs and
are often priced separately. A fee structure keeps all these prices reasonable and at a
competitive price. As a professional financial advisor my fees are flexible to meet the
clients needs. My hourly rate is $350 for consultation. My daily rate is $5,000 a day /
$2500 ½ day. Plus expenses for out of town travel.
My speaking fee for a 45 min Presentation is
$10,000. All day seminar negotiable . For clients and prospects there is no charge for
initial consultation. At the end of the initial consultation if the client decides
to select me as their financial advisor a fee arrangement will be agreed upon.
There are three methods for paying my fees:
1) If we agree that we will select a strategy of a portfolio of front end mutual
funds and insurance products then my fee will be part of the commission structure of the
mutual fund family we select and will require no payment on the part of the client at all
. The fund will pay me a commission. Those fees will be outlined in the
prospectus.
2) If we agree that we will select a strategy of individual stocks and bonds or no load
mutual funds, limited partnerships and other specialty investment vehicles, then the fee
will be $500 to set up the account and establish the necessary SEC/NASD paperwork and then
the per trade transaction fee of $29.95 plus any exchange commission or fees that may be
applicable that are normally no more than $30 per trade. After the inital $500.00
the charge will be hourly .
3) For accounts over $100,000, I will accept a wrap fee structure that would be billed
quarterly at an annualized rate of 1% of the total value of the account . This would
include all transaction fees , all documentation fees and consultation fees. It would
involved a personal in office quarterly review of the portfolio . This service involves
the initial consultation with the client and a written financial goal strategy.
It also aprovides for unlimited phone consultation.
IN ADDITION :
There is an opprotunity to get a mini financial plan
developed personally by me for you. Go to my home page and click on " Want a Financial Plan ?"
This will allow you to select a mini financial plan and have a report sent directly to you
for you to review prior to setting up a consultation. This is a wise way to get your
thoughts together before making an appointment.
